A lil tale about Irish drinking habits

Paddy had been drinking at his local Dublin pub all day and most of the night celebrating St Patrick's Day. Mick, the bartender says, "You'll not be drinking anymore tonight Paddy." Paddy replies, "OK Mick, I'll be on my way then." Paddy spins around on his stool and steps off. He falls flat on his face. "Shoite" he says, pulls himself up by the stool and dusts himself off. He takes a step towards the door and falls flat on his face, "Shoite" He looks to the doorway and thinks to himself that if he can just get to the door and some fresh air he'll be fine. He belly crawls to the door and shimmies up the door frame. He sticks his head outside and takes a deep breath of fresh air, feels much better and takes a step out onto the pavement.......and falls flat on his face. "Bi'Jesus . . . I'm focked," he says. He can see his house just a few doors down, and crawls to the door, hauls himself up the door frame, opens the door and shimmies inside. He crawls up the stairs to his bedroom door and says "I can make it to the bed." He takes a step into the room and falls flat on his face. He says "Fock it" and falls into bed.

The next morning, his wife Jess comes into the room carrying a cup of coffee and says, "Get up Paddy. Did you have a bit to drink last night?"

Paddy says, "I did Jess. I was fockin' pissed. But how'd you know? "

Mick phoned . . . You left your wheelchair at the pub.

anyone else got a good Irish Joke?

Australia - Love it or get out !

My pen man has been away overseas for 3 weeks so sorry about the no posting.
So after a good chat about whats good here and there I think I'll start back with a thought for all those who are lucky enough to live in the best country in the world.

Everybody knows it and they all want to live here,

We have it all, great land, awesome land from beautiful beaches to mountains, forests, deserts and coral reef brilliance.

Our skies are clean except for a few city regions, our water clean.
We have opportunity for the taking and lifestyle for the living.
Where else would you want to be ??

So for all you lucky enough to be here
Love this place, love your good fortune to be in what really is the lucky country...
and if you dont... feel free to piss off and leave.

This pic is me at one day old....
enjoy your day
cheers Max

Pink eye and other treats....

Talk about coming in 3's I've got a triumvirate hoard of cheekman ailments.

More choppers are coming so i got a sore head
and that has given me the mother of all nappy rashes
and to make it all go pear shaped spring has dredged up a very alluring case of pink eye !! (hay fever type conjunctivitis).

The recipe for suppression is
- a liberal coating of bonjela for the choppers - tastes like Sambuca...
- zinc cream for the butt - and you thought it was just for surfing the nose
- and some nasty ointment that M&D try and jamb into my eyes when im asleep - not happy man !

lucky I'm going to granny g's for the night she'll treat me right.

Perals of Wisdom

Some people call them Pearls.... Im not sure,

Here's one from Dad. Must be friday.......

- live in the moment...
- be happy with what you have...
- a bird in the hand is worth two in some bush...

ie....the best most delicious and satisfying beer in the world is the fresh frothy cold one you currently have sitting lovingly in your hand. If there was no label you wouldn't give a rats because at the end of a hard day/week, after a massive surf, if you've been driving a plow, if you been tipping a cow.... matter of fact....
Anything else is pure wishfulness - and wishfulness dont get you nothing so therefore ....

live in the moment...
be happy with what you have...
a bird in the hand is worth two in some bush....

enjoy your beer this evening dad and the rest of the max lovin peeps !

Whilst we are on the subject of Kiwi's

Here are a smattering of news snippets...

AFP NEWSWIRE
WELLINGTON (AFP) — New Zealand coach Graham Henry admitted the All Blacks were scarred for life by their agonising World Cup exit as the team received an unexpectedly warm welcome home on Wednesday.

All Blacks receive subdued reception on return from Rugby World Cup
8 hours ago

WELLINGTON, New Zealand - The advance party of New Zealand's All Blacks returned home from the Rugby World Cup Wednesday to a subdued reception from about 1,000 fans.......The All Blacks were overwhelming favourites to win the title and had not been expected to return to New Zealand for two weeks - after the tournament final in Paris........

Among the advance party was head coach Graham Henry, who faces dismissal as a result of New Zealand's failed campaign. Henry's contract with the New Zealand Rugby Union expires in March he is not likely to be reappointed.

New Zealand has announced an independent inquiry will be held into the All Blacks' worst-ever World Cup performance.

The New Zealand union spent more than NZ$50 million (C$35 million) on the All Blacks' campaign and expects the quarter-final loss to have a severe financial impact on the sport in New Zealand.
Rugby union officials have said sponsors are drawn to the All Blacks as a winning "brand" and will be less willing to support a team which has now failed to win the World Cup in its last five attempts.
